Discover Herd: A Dining Experience Like No Other in the Cotswolds
The Cotswolds countryside has a new crown jewel for food lovers. Herd opened in December 2024 at Todenham Manor Farm, creating a dining destination that celebrates local produce in spectacular surroundings.
This unique Cotswold restaurant offers a chance to taste the very best of the region whilst surrounded by rolling hills and farmland.
Our restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, making it perfect for any occasion. Award-winning chef Christopher Ellis leads the kitchen, bringing years of experience from top restaurants to Herd.
A Word From Our Chef
Christopher Ellis
I'm Christopher Ellis. I am a local guy whose passion for food came about at a young age not knowing what I wanted to do, when I fell in love with cooking and how I could express myself through food.
For me food is as simple as this. If you start with great produce, locally-sourced and at it’s absolute best, then all I need to do to do it justice is cook it well… which I’m confident I can do.
I’ve worked all over the UK in some of the best restaurants/eatery’s and now just a stones through away from where I grew up. Being able to work at Todenham working alongside the butchers and game keepers is a chef’s paradise and I aim to create something special and unique here at Herd.
Here’s a taste of what we do
We start with our own farm-reared meat and build our dishes around the best produce we can source from our fields and trusted local partners.
The menu you see here is a recent example, but the dishes will likely be different when you visit. The one thing that doesn't change is our commitment to quality and flavour.

From fresh morning pastries to evening steaks, you can now enjoy the full Herd experience seven days a week. Join us Monday through Sunday for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

Herd sits on the historic 900-acre Todenham Manor Farm, where Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire meet. This land once belonged to Westminster Abbey and has produced food for generations.
